Detroit Diesel is a global company with a division located in Tooele County, Detroit Diesel Remanufacturing-West. This company is doing great things for the environment as well as the citizens and students of Tooele County. Each year, DDRW offers a $2,500 Skilled Trades Award to three students who plan to complete a two-year vocational program. This scholarship is awarded to a student at each high school and winners are announced at each high school’s Scholarship Awards Night. DETROIT DIESEL REMANUFACTURING-WEST SKILLED TRADES AWARD (Seniors)
Deadline: April 14th, 2017
Application: Available in the Counseling Center at GHS, SHS, and THS.
Criteria:
-Applicant must be a high school senior attending a private or public high school.
-Applicant must have graduated from high school or its equivalent before July 1st of the year in which the scholarship will be used.
-GPA will be considered.
-Applicant must plan to continue in a two-year vocational program (Tool and Die, Machine Repair, Electrician, CNC Programming, Model Maker, Maintenance or Hearing Ventilation & Air Conditioning [HVAC] Technician.)
-Application, essay, 3 letters of recommendation.
Award: $2,500 (1 award for a student at each high school)
